Katie Reed was appointed to the Clerk of Courts position in July 2023. Katie has a history of public service in the court system. Prior to becoming Clerk, she served Barberton Municipal Court as Chief Deputy Clerk and Akron Municipal Court as a judicial bailiff. Katie is an active member of the Ohio Association of Municipal and County Clerks.

The Clerk of Courts office is responsible for processing all the paperwork that is submitted to the court and to collect money owed to the court. The office has 12 employees and serves the communities of Barberton, Green, Norton, New Franklin, Clinton, Copley, and Coventry. Katie continues to work with the judges in order to help the court operate more effectively for the citizens of the municipal court district. She also continues to seek new and innovative means to enhance the office’s efficiency.

Katie resides in Green with her husband, Lance, and two children, Abby and Ben.
